Do Portuguese Colors Change?

Some colors change to match the noun’s gender and number.

For example:

  • carro branco (white car – masculine)
  • casa branca (white house – feminine)

Colors That Do NOT Change

Some colors stay the same regardless of gender:

  • cinza

Examples:

  • carro azul
  • casa azul
  • carros azul (plural form: azuis is correct for standard grammar)

Note: Some colors like azul do change in plural (azuis), but not for gender.
